2010 Free Wedding Photography Winners!!!!
All winter, spring, summer and into fall, I've been looking forward to the wedding of my winning couple, Chelsea and Brandon. Back in February, they won the contest to get their photography services free, in addition to having the girl's make up done by Jade of Bella Bride. It was a gorgeous fall day. Their wedding took place in Marietta, Ohio. A city I quickly fell in love with. So here are some images from their big day........
Photobucket
The backdrop for Chelsea's getting ready was held at the beautiful Lafayette Hotel which is
right along the Ohio and Muskingum Rivers. The hotel started taking it's first guest's back in 1918. It boasts of charm and elegance.

Chelsea was surrounded by her bridal party and her mom who were so eager to get her into her dress. I think they were all overly pleased with the final results. Chelsea was a stunning bride to be.
Photobucket
Chelsea's mom watching over her as she does her last minute touches before heading to the ceremony.

Chelsea and Brandon had one of the suites right along the river side, with it's own private balcony. It made for a great spot to get some photos of the girls before we took off.

Photobucket
Yea, we made ourselves comfortable in the hotel lobby......
Photobucket
WOW!
Photobucket
Meantime, Brandon and his groomsmen were anxiously awaiting the wedding to begin at Chelsea's parents home that was located right in the heart of old town Marietta, right at the college.
Photobucket
The lush backyard was where the vows were spoken and tears were shed.....it was simply perfect for Brandon and Chelsea.
Photobucket
After the ceremony, the newlyweds ran out from the house to a balloon send off......
Photobucket
The neighborhood itself had plenty to offer as far as I was concerned...we walked down the street from the house to take some portraits of the newlyweds....
Photobucket
Shortly after the ceremony had ended, there seemed to be a bit of chaos in the area. Siren after siren were blaring nearby and continued to do so. I have to say, it was a bit alarming, thinking the worst, worrying about what was going on so close...the siren's continued to multiply in sound and didn't stop for well over a half hour. Helicopters began to fly over.....and you could see deep concern on everyone's face.....little did we know that it was merely a mass amount of emergency responders having a bit of a sound off if you will along the river.....that'll be one of those odd wedding memories that'll stand out.......just glad everything was alright.

Photobucket
Brandon and Chelsea had a vintage Hudson Hornet to wisk them away....but not before the bridal party had some fun with it......this car was a beauty......

Photobucket
This car was in mint condition, the driver was gracious enough to allow the newlyweds in the front seat for a few photos.........and it was well worth it.
Photobucket

Just down the road the reception was held in a tent on the college green. Chelsea's sister and her business took part in putting together the details of the event and did an outstanding job. I'm sure Brandon and Chelsea were pleased with all their hard work.
Photobucket

Photobucket
They celebrated with getting right into dancing mode and having a good time with their family and friends....
Photobucket
Even a dance-off with the groom and best man........I'm thinking Brandon had this one in the bag!
Photobucket
They topped off the night with a sparkler light show....they really knew how to end the night...
Photobucket
The night ended with a Trolley taking the bride and groom off to their hotel. It was certainly a wedding I'll never forget and enjoyed being part of. It was such a great experience having a contest last year and I look forward to doing it again for 2011, so check back here in January when we'll be choosing another couple to have their wedding photography covered! I've enjoyed getting to know Chelsea and Brandon and wish them both well in their future.........Best Wishes to you both and THANK YOU!

O-H.............
Photobucket
This family showed their true team spirit during their portrait session at their home. Justus, Mindy and their two kids, Kaden and Ella at their front door.
Photobucket
Kaden wasn't wanting to be in many photos, so on we went with the session....in the end, he came around when it was all about him.......can't blame the guy.
Photobucket
Getting some love from mommy.....the best sound is a child laughing.
Photobucket
Doesn't Ella look adorable in her little outfit!
Photobucket
And check out Ms. Ella and her hot pink shoes......and her stretchy blue jeans....this girl is stylish....
Photobucket
Mindy wanted to be sure to get a family portrait of the four generations. Her mom and grandmother were over during the session to capture that special moment.
Photobucket
Kaden up in his room.....a room full of OSU decor and a love for Thomas the Train...we chatted it up on the trains as I've come very familiar with them myself.

Backyard Fun
Photobucket
I met with Jim and Holly and their two kids, Will and Claire at their home for their session. We went to the back yard for some family fun time.
Photobucket
Everyone piled into the play area for a nice cozy family shot.
Photobucket
Not only did Will enjoy coming down the slide, but we loved climbing up it even more.
Photobucket
Sweet little Claire had just gotten over Pink Eye, we had to reschedule previously due to her not feeling so well.
Photobucket
Ah yes, like father, like son.
Photobucket

Photobucket
Everyone enjoyed just spending some time in the yard playing. The kids played off of one another and I think mom and dad enjoyed it just as much!

Michelle and Justin's Wedding!
Photobucket
Rewind back a couple months, I took a phone call late one evening. It was Michelle calling from her home in Alaska. She was calling about seeing if we could photograph her wedding. We must have talked well over an hour. When I got off the phone, Marty had said it sounded like I was talking to my best friend....we were laughing and carrying on.....I would have to say, talking with Michelle, it was like chatting with a best friend. She's just that cool.
They were married at The Columbus Cultural Arts Center in downtown Columbus. I was really excited to shoot here as it was our first time at this location.
Photobucket
Meanwhile, Justin and the guys were getting ready at The Hyatt Regency Hotel. Justin was eagerly anticipating getting to the center.
Photobucket
Michelle and the girls all arrived ready to go. They had a little time to unwind before the ceremony began. I think over all, Michelle held it together well. She didn't seem overly nervous, just excited the day was finally here.
Photobucket
The rings they chose to as their wedding bands were so unique and colorful.
Photobucket
A dear friend of Michelle's made all the jewelry for Michelle and her brides maid's.
Photobucket
I had a chance to meet Michelle a couple of days before the wedding and we talked about some of her idea's for the day......we did a lot in a short amount of time, but as I've come to learn per each wedding, the day is full of events and consumption of time.
Photobucket
I love the use of leaves in her bouquet, something you don't see very often.
Photobucket
Michelle had said in our meeting before the wedding that she knew the moment would hit her when she met her father before walking down the aisle. She was right, but she got through it and held on tightly to his arm as they made their walk to Justin.
She just beamed the whole way.
Photobucket
They were married in the court yard under the tree, it was a fitting place for them to be.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
The grounds around the Arts Center had plenty to offer for portraits. We strolled up
and down the alley way's with the bridal party and Michelle and Justin.
Photobucket

Photobucket
We made a quick little visit up the road to the new Main Street Bridge. It's the first single arched bridge in all of The United States and is constructed out of 3,765 tons
of steel. It's pretty impressive.
Photobucket

Photobucket
The reception was held inside of the Arts Center, giving guests a chance to take a look at some of the pieces on display.
Photobucket
The array of colorful flowers that Michelle and Justin used went so well with the art pieces. And they brought a little bit of Alaska back with them for all to enjoy...some fresh Salmon and Halibut.
Photobucket
It was a beautiful day, a very hot week for this couple coming out of Alaska. They enjoyed spending time with their friends and family, many of whom they hadn't seen in several years. They danced under the stars and set off to their honeymoon to Hawaii........doesn't get any better than that!
