Saturday, June 11th marked the wedding day of Laine to Chris. They were married at her Aunt's Muirfield home in the back yard in an intimate ceremony with about thirty family members and friends. All week I'd been watching the weather forecast for the day, biting my bottom lip cause the forecast didn't look good. The morning of the wedding, the day dawned to look like it could go either way...the day progressed, in what was supposed to be a down pour to an absolutely beautiful day. Not a drop of rain in sight. The clouds came and went and by the time the ceremony was to begin, it was bright as could be.
Laine's best friend Sarah came in from Oklahoma to be by her side for her big day.
Laine having a quiet moment before the ceremony begins.
The house was decked out for the special event, the food was prepped by the wonderful catering staff who did an awesome job.
Laine was holding on to the traditions of a wedding. She and Chris did not see one another before the ceremony. She had her 'something borrowed and something blue'. I thought it was touching that it was important for her to be carried over the threshold that night when they went to their home.....so sweet.
During the ceremony, Laine and Chris released some butterflies...they fluttered about, some took off into the air, while other's made their way onto the guests. One rested on Laine's train, while another spooked me by landing on my back....sorry about that yelp! We all had a good laugh....
I know it meant a lot to both Chris and Laine to have both their best friends be present on such a big day for them.
The cake was surrounded by old family photos which had a nice touch to it...looking back on the past and looking towards the future.....one day these very photos will be looked back on by their own family.......
Gorgeous!
A couple of the butterflies stayed around well after the ceremony.
It's been fun getting to know Chris and Laine...they have only been living in Ohio for a short time so they are making their mark here.
Dare I say, you both look smashing!
Such a happy bride!
Just chillin' by the pool.......how tempting it was to get in.
Congratulations Laine and Chris!! Thank you so much for having us. We had such a fun time! Enjoy your cruise!
