Another year has past and I have so many great memories from it. I thought about doing a end of the year wrap up of some of my favorite photos from each session or wedding, but it would have taken me so long to edit down my favorites per session and compile them in together.....then I thought about the photos Marty and I get of each other each year at different weddings and some sessions as well as just some of my personal photos. So I thought I'd put together a little bit of that as a send off to 2010!I love the fact that I get to work side by side my best friend, my husband at weddings..I couldn't pick a better partner. It's always fun to go to each wedding and come home at the end of a hard days work and look over our images together....and we always find humor in the couple of photos we snag of each other.
Fair play....
This past summer we took a small break and went to Chicago again. I don't get a lot of time to just take personal photos for my own enjoyment, so I tried to get a little of that time in for myself while we were on break.
I have always just loved shooting things as I see it.....be it my grandma's hands...she wears her wedding bands, my late grandfather's wedding band and rings that are special to her all on that hand...to our son's ornery grin that I can't get enough of. Or just the simple things that catch my eye.
This is my Uncle Jon, he's just turned 56 year's old! He's a hoot! I don't think I've gotten enough photos of him and that's something I need to work on...
And then of course just getting photos of my two favorite guys....it's fun for me watching this Father-Son relationship.
Ahh, the rare occasion that I allow myself to be photographed. Believe it or not, I'm not a fan of being on the other side of the camera anymore....just not my comfort zone...but Marty managed to get some photos of me this fall just relaxing in my favorite spot, in the country. Fresh air, nothing but the sound of the wind, and an occasional farm animal....that's my paradise.
In November I took off for a little trip to Las Vegas for a week and left the boys behind...that was a big step for me, not my favorite thing to do without them, but it gave me a chance to vegg out a little, visit with some of my old friends from when I lived there, as well as doing some business. One of my favorite spots when I lived there is Red Rock Canyon....I spent many a day out there and still have yet to see it all..and I always enjoy getting to see the wild Donkey's that roam about the desert. Always a delight.
I know some like to glamorize the idea of being photographers, and while it does have it's perks, it's hard work. I love my job and can happily say it's the first job I've ever had that I don't want to quit. But it is a job and we put a lot of ourselves into it.
I love this image of Ephram and my grandma, his Gi-Gi....it'll be one of
those favorites for year's to come.
So that is just a sneek peek into some of our personal photos from the last year....I am looking forward to 2011 and getting to know our upcoming bride's and groom's. I can't wait to get back into the swing of things with all these new babies that are coming in the coming months, an so on.....lots to look forward too. So thanks for checking back. Hope you'll keep coming back in 2011! From our family to your family....Happy New Year!
