The Bowen House
Photobucket
Recently I had been asked by staff at The Bowen House in Logan, Ohio to do a mock wedding portraits session. This awesome old home is trying to get the word out there that they offer services for holding showers, parties, weddings, etc at their venue. So I rounded up my first couple, John and Julie, some friends of our's. We had the pleasure of shooting their wedding a few years ago, and since they have had a adorable little girl.....they were sweet enough to help me on this project (thank you!)

Awww....love it!

I'm so happy that John and Julie met and have created their little family. John has always kept me in stitches, and it's been great getting to know Julie better over the year's.

In addition to John and Julie helping me out.....I also got to work with LeAnn and Jeff for the first time. They were gracious enough to take on two parts of the job. Showing off The Bowen House and the fabulous works of Jennifer and Jason of The Ritzy Rose. Their business is taking off in huge ways and I'm so glad that I happened to come across her. I knew her products would be perfect for this setting.

LeAnn wore two awesome dresses for their part, thanks to La Jeune Mariee Bridal Boutique in Worthington.

The Bowen House Community Art and Education Center is a great venue for holding parties, or weddings and receptions. There is lots of spacious room in the house and a large front lawn. Built in 1831, the house had programs and classes each month for visitors to take part in.

I was so tickled to see the great props and beautiful bouquets that Jennifer brought. You can check out their website here: http://www.theritzyrose.com/Home.html From unique floral bouquets to colorful umbrella's, fun signs, and a list of other things....this is surely a site to check out if your planning for your wedding!!

How I wish these awesome bouquets would have been around when I had gotten married!

The different types of bouquets that The Ritzy Rose offer's are just so inspiring. It's amazing the pieces they find to make up a single bouquet. I can only imagine the fun they have in the search for pieces.

So I want to thank The Bowen House for having me be a part of this opportunity, it was a lot of fun. I want to thank John and Julie for doing their part and getting to spend some time with sweet Marie. I want to thank LeAnn and Jeff for also coming to help and being such great sports. Thanks to Le Jeune Mariee Bridal Boutique for allowing LeAnn to use your beautiful gowns. And a big thank you to Jason and Jennifer for allowing me to use some of your wonderful creations. It was great getting to spend the afternoon with you all!! Thank you!

Been A Busy Little Girl..........
Photobucket
In case you were wondering.....no, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I've been so super busy with sessions and weddings, on top of trying to edit, and so on and so forth that my blogging has been put on the back burner a bit. Can't say I'm proud of that, but it's a work in progress. So much blogging is to be done, from cute little kiddo's and their families, to some beautiful weddings, an expectant couple. The list continues to grow from there.....so stay tuned.....will be posting more of these sessions and other's.

Age Photo Blocks
Over the weekend, I met with Rachel. She has a growing business, WWW.AGEPHOTOBLOCKS.COM. She creates these great blocks that will
document a childs age from the first week, to the years to come. We all know kids grow so fast, and this is a great idea to keep track of the years that go by so quickly.
Rachel's daughter Madison, who is not new to this blog is now 22 month's old...
This is a wonderful gift for a mommy-to-be.

The blocks come with with two blocks with the number combinations and a block for Weeks, Months, and Years.
Rachel is updating her website, so we had some models pose with the blocks...this little baby was so tiny.....but a sweet little baby.

You know me, my weakness for babies...had to grab a couple more photos of this little gal.....

A photo with her Mommy and Daddy.
Madison and Rachel were singing 'Patty Cake'...she's too cute with her expressions....you'll see more of her later this spring........when this snow finally melts! So check out Rachel's site for a great, unique gift!

Flamenco Dancing
Photobucket
This past Sunday I was asked to take some photos of a wonderful Flamenco
Dancer. This is Carol and she has been dancing The Flamenco for some
time now. Her hard work has paid off and it shows.
Photobucket
Flamenco is a term that applies to the body of music, song and dance.
Customarily associated with Andalucian gypsies of Southern Spain.
Photobucket
The above images is known as the Guarijas Dance (the fan dance).
Influenced by Cuban rhythms, it was brought to Spain in the XVI
century. This dance is traditionally a women's dance, almost always
performed with a fan and means Cuban Peasant Girl.
Photobucket
The attire the dancers wore was colorful and dramatic. Carol had a solo
in the middle of the sets called Tientos Tangos. This had my feet wanting
to dance with her as she stomped about the floor and commanded the room
her attention.

Photobucket
I really enjoyed getting to be a part of this experience and the show.
If your interested in more information about Flamenco Dancing, be sure
to check out  The Columbus Performing Arts website as they will be happy
to bring in more dancers.
