I have been so exited to share this post. This was part inspiration of my own creative outlet and the willingness of an awesome family to take part and have a little fun. I've worked with this family before and when Robin had contacted me about doing some family portraits, I knew she would totally love the concept. It was fitting in so many ways and let me say, they rocked it! I was super excited when they arrived for their session to see them all decked out in their vintage attire. It was important for them to have these portraits to document their family and have this special keepsake for year's to come. Family is so important, as is the freezing of a special moment in time. Robin's love for capturing her family at that place an time speaks to me cause that is a big reason why I do this job. I realize the importance of making images that people will cherish. For their children to look back on down the road when members of the family are no longer with us. Something instilled to me by my late grandfather who loved photography. Robin and Brad are such down to earth people, the type you feel like you've known for ages and they have created two beautiful children, Beckham and Cambell. Beckham is a heart-breaker for sure....those eyes are to die for! Robin is just as beautiful on the inside as she is the outside. And a lil flirty too! Cambell is the spitting image of her mom. She loves to dance around in her frilly dress an tip-toe in the flowers. It's fun just to sit back and watch her go. Johnny and his son Mile's look like a handsome pair. The have a timeless look about them both. Milly was radiant. She was working it all on her own. The gang, Johnny and Nicky who raised their three kids, Robin, Miles and Milly, and Robin's two kids, Cambell and Beckham.
Brad looks like he stepped right out of time. How dapper he looked. Great style of old is gone today sadly. Nicky and Johnny have been together for 35 years and are the best of friends. Highs and lows, they always have each other to come back too. They adore their family and their grandchildren with much adoration. It's all because of their love that this session took place.....many year's later. To be a kid again.......
This session was centered around Johnny. His family loves him dearly and they mean the world to him. He's one proud man. I love the image to the left, as he watched them getting ready....he has so much pride. Remember those eyes's of Beckham's..I now see where the family get's those crystal blue eyes, from Johnny.
It was truly a wonderful evening with a great family. I know they will cherish these images with much pride.
I got together with one of my favorite families that I have worked with for a couple of year's now to do some updated family portraits. This family has grown x3 since the last time they were all together. Sadly one of my 'regular's of the bunch has moved out of state for a new job. It was a good opportunity for them all to play around with one another. I love the idea of a big family an all the kids growing up together, as many of them live out of state. This is Marguerite, she was cute as a button. She and her Mommy and big sister came in from Chicago to visit and catch up.
Here is the whole gang...such a great family!! I will miss seeing Dez and Brklyn, but I know we will meet again...and I know we'll all continue to keep in touch! Best wishes to you in your new future!!
It was a rainy day when I got to meet up with this bunch again in their Dublin home. But there was plenty of fun to be had inside. This is Marin, Reid, and Carys. Andrew and Melissa's home is one of those that you just smile soon as you walk in....great lighting, great spaces to work with. They have created a beautiful home for their family. Andrew and Melissa's room was one of those comfy retreats....a feeling of space and relaxation. The kids enjoyed climbing all over them for some photos. Marin is 6. She looked lovely in her dress and showed off her room to me. Reid is the birthday boy, turning 5. He liked playing on his train table with an assortment of his favorite toys. And sweet Carys, she is 3. She is at that stage where she's trying to figure out how to smile on command. We had a good laugh at all the faces she would make...she was trying. But just the same, I think she pulls off a pretty good serious pose.
Adorable's.... I had a great time getting to work with this family again and seeing how much the kids have grown over the last year. This last image was my favorite by far. I think this should go down as a yearly photo that needs to be documented on how much they change!
Nikki and Brian were recently married on Easter weekend at their home. They had a small intimate ceremony with their family on their back deck. Not a cloud in the sky on such a lovely day. The purple really stood out among the green grass. Brian and Nikki both presented each other's daughter's with a special necklace during the ceremony which is always touching. While the guests mingled,I got to pull Nikki and Brian away for a quick bit in their back yard. How sweet and pretty girls can be, but just as fast they can turn on the crazy. I've worked with Nikki's girls a few times and they always leave me smiling.
Mmmm...all I gotta say is I'll have a slice of both! After the ceremony, the kids and guests relaxed in the back yard. The kids were able to let loose on the trampoline. It was a beautiful day to start a new life together. Congrats!

This is Carrie and Ben. It was a great relief to get back into the swing of things with my first
engagement session of the new year. Carrie and Ben live in German Village so we walked the
cobblestone streets around the neighborhood that sunny evening. There is a bit of a back story to them, I've known Carrie and Ben for a few year's. Carrie's family lives across the street from us, so we have gotten to know their family well over the years. I remember when they first started dating, they were 'Just Friends'....or so the story went. You might want to update your status to 'More than Friends'. Carrie and Ben are in the process of building their first house, expected to be ready around the time they get married this summer, so they have a busy schedule going on this year. But they have enjoyed their time living in German Village and the spoils that it brings.
They both are teachers for Pickerington Schools, so I thought a play on apples would be appropriate. They are having a large wedding in June that we are really looking forward to. Friends and family are coming in from all over and the reception is going to be awesome. Their ceremony is taking place at The Ohio Village at the Historical Society. Carrie and Ben are a great match for one another. And I know that Ben adores her. He did the sweetest thing when he proposed to her. He created a story book with drawings done by a friend that told of their love story up until that point. He presented it to her and the rest was history...... BLING!
We finished out our evening with a treat. Carrie love's popcorn and it's a running joke in their home that you don't mess with her serving. She likes to keep it all to herself, and I hear there is a certain claw that makes an appearance when digging in.......I guess Carrie finally got pay back for all those time's she wanted it all to herself! Congrats on your engagement, we are looking forward to sharing your big day with you!
